Cassia County Fair Week

This week was the Cassia County Fair. It is probably one of my favorite times of the whole summer! All week I got to enjoy dressing up, eating good food, seeing friends, watching animals, and enjoying summer.

Probably one of my favorite parts of the Family Rodeo is when the kids get to participate. All kids 8&older get to go out into the arena and chase around calves. Each calf has a different color ribbon attatched to their tail. The kids are suppose to chase the calf, grab the ribbon off the tail, and then run it back to the announcer. Each ribbon has a different color and signifies a different prize for the kids to win. Kaleb participated this year but in the first video I had a hard time keeping track of him.

Even though he isn't 8 yet Wesley went out there to participate. He is so cute, it was fun to watch him run around and chase the calves. The best part though was that Jason (his dad) was following him around with a camera recording his every move. Jason was only one of a couple parents that went out there with their kids.

Friday:

Today Jessica Hutton, my friend from home, came to visit! This is her 3rd time coming to Idaho. For some reason she loves it here! Just kidding, how could you not love it here! I drove to Idaho Falls this morning to do a little bit of shopping before it was time to pick Jess up. Her flight got in around 3 and after picking her up we grabbed a bite to eat at Taco Bell (YUMM). Then we rushed back to Burley so we would be able to get ready to head to the fair!

I have big dreams of being a barrel racer and a wrangler :)

Saturday:

Today Jess and I were Lazy! We slept in pretty late. We decided that we were going to float the river so we grabbed out hats, sunglasses, bathing suits, and tubes, and we headed out! We only floated about an hour but it was a hot day so it felt nice to relax and enjoy the water.

After floating we got ready to go and enjoy the last night of the fair and go to the rodeo one last time.

There were over 42 cowboys who entered in the Rodeo but had to withdrawal  due to injury. That has gotta be a  record? I've never head of that many being injured. It was one of the shortest Rodeos I have ever been to.

Following the Rodeo we wandered the Fair and tried to Enjoy our last night. We ended up meeting up with a bunch of friends and decided to go do dry ice bombs. We had to show Jess some more ways to have fun in Idaho!
There ended up being quite a big group of us that went! There was me, Jess, Cody, Brock, Shawn, Andrew, Jason, Allison, and Seth. Josh fell asleep on Allison's house right before we went so we just left him there. Hehe!
